His career as a composer began at age 21 in New York City as the lead singer of the hugely successful band High Highs. The band was picked up by Elton John’s management company and record label, toured the world, appeared in numerous films and right now has roughly 80 million streams on Spotify. And that’s not including the ones for his 2022 debut solo album Blu Terra on R&S Records/Apollo, a staple in people’s Wrapped instabrags all over the world.

Jackson’s partnership with Sonar Music continues to move from strength to strength, writing the award winning scores for television series Erotic Stories, Bloom Series 1 and 2 (AGSC Award Best Music for a TV Series), BUMP Series 2, 3 and 4, Meet The Neighbours, Amazing Grace and the much loved documentary series Books That Made Us. He also collaborated with Tim Minchin on the highly acclaimed television series Upright, and scored a bunch of recent feature documentaries including Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles, true crime tale Speedway, Netflix’s Machine and The Desert Said Dance.

Oh, and he also collaborated with acclaimed Australian artist Leila Jefferys and Melvin Montalaban on large scale installation Temple for VIVID Sydney 2022, creating a stunning orchestral composition inspired by the textures and sounds of Native Australian birdlife, which was nominated for a prestigious D&AD Award for Original Composition.

Jackson is an eclectic multi-instrumentalist; weaving award-winning commercial scores for global clients, including the iconic beer choir for Carlton Draught.
